Glasphera is the first US based company established to produce lightweight, foamed glass spheres from recycled glass. Glass is an inert mineral and resistant to heat, cold, water, chemicals and is dimensionally stable. In addition to a low unit weight, these spheres provide insulation, noise absorption and fire protection in all types of applications.
Traditional applications include, dry mix mortars, tile adhesives, wall boards, lightweight concrete and self-leveling underlayments. The recycled glass used to produce the spheres is glass that has been diverted from landfill, creating a truly environmentally friendly and sustainable material. Sphere sizes range from 0.1 to 8.0 mm.
